Ranch Roundup

TX x RBR

¡bienvenida!

In preparing to welcome our pilot participants to the Ranch, our team recognized a special coincidence: well, all of you happen to be ladies who currently live in Texas.

Thus, we have lovingly dubbed this summer’s pilot program “TX x RBR.”

How and When Will I Get to The Ranch?

The folks of RBR, human and horse, cannot wait to see you!

The Roundbarn Shuttle will be making a Santa Barbara Regional Airport run on Wednesday, July 23. The shuttle will also provide return transportation to SBA on Monday, July 27. More details to follow.

Please meet the RBR Truck at SBA Baggage Claim. The drive from SBA to RBR is approximately 45 minutes.

P.S. The bar just outside of the gates on the second floor of the Santa Barbara Airport makes a fantastic Bloody Mary for those who may need to wait for the shuttle pick up.

What about Food?

Accommodation rates include all meals listed on the agenda (except for dinner in town) plus a selection of healthy snacks. Also included is wine, beer and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages served at our House Happy Hour and during dinners at the Ranch. We will also offer wine and beer for purchase to take back to your room if desired. To-go options are available should you choose to have dinner in your room.

You will simply be responsible for the cost of your own dinner and/or drinks in town while off-the-ranch. Transportation to and from the off the ranch dinner is provided by the RBR shuttle.

We have worked to meet each guest’s dietary needs as outlined during the registration process. We are sourcing local ingredients and vendors of the highest quality and can't wait to share all the Valley has to offer in terms of clean, local cuisine!

Sample Menu-

Welcome Snack: Cheese & Charcuterie or Mediterranean Dips and Local Veggies

Breakfast: Local Coffee, Cold Bar (Yogurt, Fruit), Hot Organic Oatmeal

Lunch: Local Farm-Fresh Salad Bar with Features

Dinner: Homemade Pasta Bar, Fiesta Night, All-Ranch Cook-Out

What Should I Pack?

Some call it "Valley Casual." Some call it "Coastal Cowgirl."

We call it "Come As You Are, but come wearing boots and jeans.”

Boots: We have a very strict closed-toe shoe policy. While not in your room, all ranch guests must wear closed-toe shoes.

Jeans and Long Sleeves: Jeans and long sleeves are required when riding and interacting with the animals. Not only will this protect you from the California Sun, but it's just plain good advice for visiting a ranch.

Hat: If you forget your hat, you will wish you had not. So go ahead and set out this necessary ranch accessory now. Any style hat will do.

Layers: Guests will likely experience three of the four seasons each day at the ranch. So don't leave home without a jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater.

Preferred riding gear: While we have riding gear for borrowing, if you have your own you may choose to bring it. Helmets are required for riding.

In town outfit: You may choose to pack a non-ranchwear outfit to wear for dinner in town. This is by no means required, as you will see plenty of ranchwear in town. But if you would like, feel free to bring a casual maxi dress or non-jeans, etc for this animal free, off the ranch activity.

Important

Requests

Session 3: Please bring an item that sparks memories from around age 11. This could be a photo, an artifact from your childhood, or a memento you associate with that time in your life. You will be invited to share the story behind the item with the group.

Hat Bar: For Friday's Hat Bar La Ñapa, you may want to bring with you a hat from home to be decorated. New hats will also be available for purchase.
