Each RETURNING RANCHERS EXPERIENCE is thoughtfully customized for the group.
All LESSONS are guided by the principles of EQUINE-GUIDED EDUCATION (EGE)—an experiential, non-clinical approach to self-discovery and skill development that relies on the HORSE-HUMAN CONNECTION to teach interchangeable, practical and applicable tools for navigating emotions and experiences.
The HORSES and HUMANS of ROUNDBARN cannot wait to welcome you back into THE CORRAL!

How and When Will I Get to The Ranch?
The folks of RBR, human and horse, cannot wait to see you!
ARRIVING BY AIR? Most guest choose to fly in to Santa Barbara Regional Airport and take advantage of our RBR Airport Shuttle. The drive from SBA to RBR is approximately 45 minutes.
The Roundbarn Shuttle will be making a Santa Barbara Regional Airport run on Day 1 of your experience. Flights should arrive in Santa Barbara no later than 2:00 PM. Some guests choose to arrive a day or two early and enjoy all that Santa Barbara County has to offer. Reach out to our team for recommendations and partner hotels should you choose to arrive to the Central Coast a little early. Our shuttle will also provide return transportation to SBA on the final morning of your experience. Flights departing Santa Barbara should be scheduled no earlier than 11:30AM. More details to follow.
Please meet the RBR Shuttle at SBA Baggage Claim.
We also have ample parking on site for those who prefer to drive themselves or rent a car. We are accessible by rideshare as well.
P.S. The bar just outside of the gates on the second floor of the Santa Barbara Airport makes a fantastic Bloody Mary for those who may need to wait for the shuttle pick up.
ARRIVING BY CAR? RBR is located at 200 South Refugio Road, Santa Ynez, California. Upon arrival at the ranch, press the call button at the gate. Continue straight. When you reach the second pond follow the signage labeled “Guests” to head left across the white bridge. Continue around the pond where our team will be waiting to greet you. Ample parking and EV chargers are available on site.
What about Food?
Accommodation rates include all meals listed on the agenda plus a selection of healthy snacks. Also included are wine, beer, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages served at our House Happy Hour and during dinners at the Ranch. To-go options are available should you choose to dine in your room.
We have worked to meet each guest’s dietary needs as outlined during the registration process. We are sourcing local ingredients and vendors of the highest quality and can't wait to share all the Valley has to offer in terms of clean, local cuisine!
Sample Menu-
Welcome Snack: Cheese & Charcuterie or Mediterranean Dips and Local Veggies
Breakfast: Local Coffee, Cold Bar (Yogurt, Fruit), Hot Organic Oatmeal Bar
Lunch: Local Farm-Fresh Salad Bar with Features
Dinner: All-Ranch BBQ Cookout, Chili Bar, Fiesta Night
What Should I Pack?
Our ranch dress code is what some around here call "Valley Casual." Others call it "Coastal Cowgirl." We say "Come As You Are, but come wearing boots and jeans.”
Boots: We have a very strict closed-toe shoe policy. While not in your room, all ranch guests must wear closed-toe shoes.
Jeans and Long Sleeves: Jeans and long sleeves are required when riding and interacting with the animals. Not only will this protect you from the California sun, but it's just plain good advice for visiting a ranch.
Hat: If you forget your hat, you will wish you had not. So go ahead and set out this necessary ranch accessory now. Any style hat will do.
Layers: Guests will likely experience three of the four seasons each day at the ranch. So don't leave home without a jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater.
Preferred Riding Gear: While we have riding gear for borrowing, if you have your own, you may choose to bring it. Helmets are required for riding, and we have range of sizes available in our borrow collection.
Reading Glasses: As required.
Workout Clothes: Our Ranch Gym, El Gimnasio, is open 24/7, and movement classes such as pilates or yoga will often be available during your stay.
What other activities are available?
The Spanish phrase "la ñapa" means "a bonus," “a pause,” or "something extra.”
LA ÑAPA at RBR is a thoughtfully curated collection of experiences that have been selected to support you as a learner while you are here at the Ranch. A LA ÑAPA experience is meant to be an extension of what’s happening, as we say, “In the Corral.”
